Most conversations about AI and workforce strategy start with a familiar framework: is your organization growing with AI, doing more with less, or cutting costs? It’s a useful starting point, but it doesn’t answer the harder question CHROs are facing. The mechanics of workforce planning are changing. AI substitutes at the task level, not the role level, and the planning tools built for a world of stable job roles were never designed to see work at that resolution.
Join Sue Cantrell, who leads Human Capital Eminence at Deloitte and has written extensively on AI-powered workforce planning, for a short framing presentation on where the field is headed. She’ll then be joined by Nickle LaMoreaux, CHRO of IBM, and Monique Herena, Chief Colleague Experience Officer at American Express, for a panel discussion that tests that thinking against what’s happening inside their organizations.
You’ll leave with
- 01 A clearer view of how task- and workflow-level analysis is replacing role-level headcount forecasting
- 02 A practical way to check whether your AI strategy matches your headcount and budget decisions
- 03 Talent priorities that shift depending on whether you’re scaling, redeploying, or reducing — and how to tell which one you’re really doing
- 04 A working answer to whether “workforce planning” is still the right term for what you’re doing
