Following the merger of Tech Data and SYNNEX, TD SYNNEX faced a familiar challenge at unfamiliar scale: transactional HR work was consuming capacity that could otherwise go toward leadership and strategic priorities, across a workforce of more than 24,000 people in 50+ countries.
Rather than treating AI as a simple efficiency play, TD SYNNEX partnered with IBM to build AskHR, powered by watsonx — and designed it as the foundation for something bigger: what CHRO Alim Dhanji calls “People Intelligence.” The goal isn’t just faster answers to HR questions. It’s AI that surfaces the next-best insight before someone knows to ask — helping managers and coworkers make better decisions, not just find information faster.
